Why Isn't My Website Getting Any Leads?

You have a website but the phone isn't ringing because of it. Here are the usual reasons a Kamloops business site doesn't generate leads — and how to fix each one.

The short answer: a website that generates no leads usually has one of six problems — nobody can find it in local search, it loads too slowly, it has no clear call-to-action, it lacks trust signals (reviews, real photos), it's written about the owner instead of the customer, or the enquiries arrive but get missed. Most sites have two or three at once; fixing search visibility usually pays back fastest.

You paid for a website. It looks fine. And yet none of your new customers seem to come from it — the phone rings because of referrals and word of mouth, not the site. So what's the point of it?

A website that doesn't generate leads usually has one (or more) of a few specific problems. Here's how to diagnose yours.

1. Nobody can find it

The most common reason a site gets no leads is simple: almost nobody visits it. If you don't show up when people search for your service in Kamloops, the quality of the site doesn't matter — there's no traffic to convert.

Fix: this is a local SEO and Google Maps problem. Start by knowing which searches you should even be targeting — local SEO keywords for small business breaks down the five types and where each belongs. Getting found is step one; everything else is downstream of it.

2. It loads too slowly

If your site takes more than a few seconds to load — especially on a phone — a large share of visitors leave before they ever see it. You're losing leads you actually attracted.

Fix: speed is fixable, and it matters more than most owners think. Here's why a slow site costs you customers.

3. It doesn't tell visitors what to do

Plenty of sites describe the business beautifully and then... stop. No clear next step, no obvious phone number, no simple form, no "Get a quote" button. The visitor is interested but isn't told how to act, so they don't.

Fix: every page needs one obvious action — call, message, book, request a quote — placed where people actually look, not buried in a footer.

4. It doesn't build trust

A visitor deciding between you and a competitor is asking: can I trust these people? A site with no reviews, no photos of real work, no faces, and stock imagery doesn't answer that question.

Fix: add real photos, customer reviews, and proof of your work. (More reviews also help you rank — here's how to get them.)

5. It's built for you, not the customer

Owners often want the site to talk about them — history, mission, awards. Customers want to know whether you solve their problem, fast. A site organised around the owner instead of the customer's question converts poorly.

Fix: lead with the customer's problem and your solution. The "about us" story matters, but it isn't the first thing a ready-to-buy visitor needs.

6. The leads come in but vanish

Sometimes the site is generating enquiries — they're just being missed. A form submission nobody's notified about, a call that comes in while you're on a job, a message that sits for hours until the customer has booked someone else.

Fix: this is a follow-up problem, and it's very fixable with automatic lead follow-up and missed-call text-back so no enquiry slips through.

Finding your specific leak

Most sites have two or three of these at once. The fastest way to find yours is to look at the whole picture — traffic, speed, structure, and follow-up — together. The free website grader gives you an instant read, and the free review goes deeper: I'll tell you exactly where your site is leaking leads and what to fix first.

A website should be your hardest-working salesperson. If it isn't bringing you a single lead, it's not too expensive — it's just not finished.
